Another Brazilian on DC United?

According to the Washington Post, DC United has signed its second Brazilian of the off season. Like many Brazilian players, he is known by by his first name - Fred. His full name is Helbert Frederico Carreiro da Silva and he plays striker/midfielder.

But not so fast says Fred's former team - Melbourne Victory of the Australian league champions. "As far as the club is concerned there is no confirmation or anything from the club," says a Melbourne media official.

I will keep an eye on the situation - if you want more information I would urge you to read the Offside Rules blog. It's where I found out about Melbourne's objections.

More to come...

Australia were robbed by Italy. I'd like a discussion around this instead of Brazilians (unless it's the other brazilian)...
